This holiday to Newquay in Cornwall from 8th – 15th July, was organised jointly for RDHS, The National Trust, The Townswomen’s Guild and for friends, to ensure sufficient numbers to fill the coach.
It was an eight day holiday – two days going there and back, four days of outings and a couple of blank days for you to do what you wanted at your leisure.
Excursions were to LLanhydrock House (a National Trust regional office) and its Gardens, Charlestown where Poldark was filmed, St Austell Brewery, The Eden Project and a steam hauled round trip on the Bodmin and Wenford Railway with a cream tea on the train.
There was a bus that went from outside the Hotel to The Lost gardens of Helligan, which able bodied people could visit. The shops were not too far away along the promenade (or again you could go by bus).
The Hotel was the Hotel Barrowfield which came highly recommended and I booked it through Daish’s Holidays which I have used regularly.
Cost was approximately. £550 for the 8 days half board and the coaches; an excellent price for eight days you will agree.
